Affiliate links

Every button pointing to a shop is an affiliate link. If you click it and buy something, we receive a commission from that shop. The price you pay does not change. This is also stated above the first affiliate link on every ranking.

We currently work with bol and awin. Every outbound link runs through our own redirect address, so we can see which links still work and remove dead ones. We set no cookies beyond what the affiliate network itself sets at the moment you click through.

Commission and order

Commission plays no part in the order of a ranking. The criterion weights are fixed before assessment and are published on themethodology page; the total is a sum of sub-scores and weights. You can recompute every position yourself. If that ever changes, it will be stated on the ranking concerned.

What our figures rest on

Our figures come from manufacturer documentation, the European product database for energy labels, and the specifications retailers publish. Every sub-score names the source it rests on, so you can recompute our assessment rather than having to trust it.

We do not measure ourselves; we have no lab of our own. Set against that: where a manufacturer does not publish a value, we mark the cell «not stated» rather than estimating. Nothing goes in that we cannot evidence.

Prices and availability

Prices and stock status come from retailer feeds and are refreshed daily. Every price is valid as of the moment it was retrieved; it can change between then and your click. The price in the shop always governs. Some retailers' terms do not permit us to display an amount; in those cases you will see a button without a price.

Liability

We compile these pages carefully, but manufacturer specifications contain errors and feeds lag behind. No rights can be derived from the information on this site, and a purchase remains your own judgement. If you spot an error, tell us via thecontact page; we will correct it and note the correction.
